Bangladesh has welcomed the announcement of a temporary ceasefire in the Middle East, describing it as a positive and much-needed step towards easing tensions in the conflict-ridden region.
In an official statement issued on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed hope that all parties involved would honour the ceasefire and seize the opportunity to work towards a sustainable and peaceful resolution.
The government emphasised that the pause in hostilities should be used constructively to rebuild trust and restore stability, which has been severely undermined by recent escalations.
Dhaka also acknowledged and appreciated the diplomatic efforts undertaken by various stakeholders that helped bring about the ceasefire, highlighting the importance of continued international engagement.
Reiterating its long-standing position, Bangladesh stressed that disputes must be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy rather than confrontation. The statement underscored the belief that meaningful negotiations remain the only viable path to achieving enduring peace in the region.
The development comes amid ongoing global concern over instability in the Middle East, with the ceasefire offering a glimmer of hope for de-escalation after weeks of heightened conflict.
